Prophylactic antibiotic treatment after unprotected oral sex.

I would be grateful if I could have your opinions on this.

I am 31 years old and approximately 72 hours ago I had unprotected oral sex with a 23-year old escort. There was no vaginal or anal sex and I did not perform oral sex on her. We did not kiss.

Additional details (I am not sure how relevant these are):
- I paid 100 euros for the (pre-arranged 1-hour) encounter
- The escort told me I would NOT be able to ejaculate in her mouth
- The escort told me she does NOT perform anal sex (I did ask)
- The oral sex was not particularly vigorous and, as far as I remember, there was no "deepthroating"
- The escort was shaved and I could clearly see she did not have any lesions or sores near her genital/anal area (and of course she did not have any visible lesions/sore in her lips or face)
- I am currently asymptomatic (3 days after the encounter), other than marked anxiety

Given that I was very anxious after the encounter, approximately 18-20 hours after it I took Azithromycin 1 gr plus Cefixime 400 mg (single dose for both). I also phoned the escort and she mentioned she is seen by her Gynecologist every 2 weeks (of course, I do not know if this is true).

My questions:

- I think the antibiotics I took would give me some protection against chlamydia and gonorrhea but I am not sure about syphilis. I understand these antibiotics are not the recommended choice for syphilis. What is your opinion?

- Regarding testing, which STDs would you recommend that I get testing for? And when should I do this?

Thank you for your help.

Hi if she didnot have any lip sores you can rule out syphilis and pretty much the same for herpes and you can test for gono at 7 days if you want but her having oral gono is rare. Chlanydia is not passed by the mouth.

Many thanks for your quick reply.

Just some final questions, please.

- She certainly did not have any visible lip (or genital) sores but, in theory, couldnĀ“t she have herpes or syphilitic sores inside her mouth? Is that unlikely?

- Given that I took antibiotics, if I do not develop any symptoms suggestive of gono over the next week, would you still recommend that I test for gono?

- Is it possible that Azithromycin 1 gr plus Cefixime 400 mg taken within 24 h of the event would prevent syphilis if hypothetically she had this condition?

Thanks again. Your opinion is very much appreciated.
