Help Please. Male rectal Chlamydia and lower abdomen pain

I'm bisexual male and recently had unprotected anal sex (receiving). One month after I started to have anal warts. I went to STD clinic and it turned out I have rectal chlamydia positive (all STDs are negative, urine and throat chlamydia are also negative). In those days I had minor pains in my right lower abdomen. It lasted only two days and each time the pain would last several minutes. I didn't think of STD at the time.

Currently I'm treating rectal Chlamydia with Doxycycline 7 days. I heard Chlamydia is easy to clear. But I'm not sure what the right lower abdomen pain is? Can it be associated with male rectal chlamydia? I just don't want to have other complications other than the chlamydia itself.

It could be from the chlamydia, or it could be another problem you have. If it doesn't clear up by the time you're done with the doxy, follow up with your doctor.

It could be anything from a kidney stone/kidney infection to a hernia to IBS to appendicitis, or a host of other things.

If you get a fever, vomiting, the pain worsens, or you get any bloating, contact your doctor immediately, or go to an emergency room.

Oh and have you had HIV testing? You can take a 4th generation DUO test at 28 days.

Thank you so much auntiejessi. Yes HIV tested negative. Only rectal  chlamydia. The pain only lasted two days. While in those two days I just felt slight pain for a few minutes in the right lower abdomen. I never felt this pain before. I went to a public sexual clinic today and the nurse was so unprofessional. When I asked whether this pain is related to chlamydia she said you're not a woman. So the question is simple: would rectal chlamydia in men would cause pain in right lower abdomen? If yes why is that and what could be the complications? I don't have any other symptoms other than the pain for two days. thanks a lot. This is my first ever STD I'm really worried. Could it be LGV?

What country do you live in? LGV is rare in the US, more common (but still fairly rare) in European countries. It's also more common in people living with HIV.

So it's been at least a month since infection, correct?

"Stage two: Usually between 10 and 30 days after exposure, inflamed and swollen lymph glands may appear in the groin, armpit or neck. Anal infection can cause painful ulcerations, discharge and bleeding. You may have a fever or rash."

You can read stage 1 in the article, which it doesn't sound as if you've had. You definitely don't have the symptoms of stage 2.

Chlamydia can cause lower abdominal pain in men. Given that yours was so transient, I'd wonder if it's even from the chlamydia, but it could be a cause.

It's more likely to have abdominal pain from a urethral infection than a rectal infection, though.

If it continues, see your regular doctor, not the sexual health clinic.
