Help from Italy!

Hey everyone,
I have been suffering from light burning during urination, and a light (sometimes clear fluid, sometimes white fluid) drip from my penis for about 2 months now. I'm American but live in Italy and I'm having a very hard time getting efficient medical assistance. I've gone to the doctor twice and they've just written a perscription without giving a physical exam, which makes me think they could be making inaccurate diagnosis. It sounds like I have either Gonorrhea or Chlamydia. I took cefixime but it didn't seem to work; I took one 400 Mg pill per day for 15 days in a 20 day period. it was 45 Euro for 15 pills, so its not cheap especially if it doesn't work. Today I went to another doctor and he prescriped Canesten Cream to apply to the tip of my penis (twice daily for 6 days). So my questions are: Does anyone know what I may have? Will this Canesten Cream help at all? Does anyone know of an STD clinic in Rome? Any help would be appreciated, as this is becoming very fustrating and I want to avoid any permanent damage. Thanks in advance everyone!

It sounds like gonorrhea, chlymida or NGU. Have you recently had any unprotected sex (oral, anal or vaginal)?
The cream will not do anything against a STD.
Google Rome and see what you can find, we do not have that kind of info.

Vance,
Yes I've had unproctected sex a few times in the time which corresponds to the symptoms. Do you know why the Cefixime did not work? Should I have used if for longer? Are there better products? Cheers.

We do not recommend self medication, you need to get tested and the Dr will prescribe the right medication.
