How could I get a fungal infection in penis if not from sex?

I'm a male and it's been four months since I received unprotected oral sex from a female, since about three weeks ago I've had an itchy sensation in my penis; later I found I had some irritation.

Went to the doctor today and he prescribed oral fluconazole and topic miconaloze. He says it's just a fungal infection or say a form of balanitis, and is not related to the oral sex received four months ago. He says it was because, since I'm not circumcised, the area covered by the foreskin is warm and also vulnerable to moist, which facilitates the growth of the fungus.

It makes sense to me, but can I really get an infection of these by myself with practically no sex involved?

Your doctor is right.  Fungal infections are not transmitted sexually.  We all carry various fungi on our skin and in our body cavities.  It isn't always clear why they flare up to cause symptoms when they do.  But for the most part, you don't catch such infections from sex partners or from anyone else.
