How long are you contagious for after treatment for Gonorrhea & Chlamydia?

I'm a 20 year old gay male who's on Prep. Last week (October 24th and October 25th) I had a sexual rendezvous with another man, which including unprotected sexual intercourse. I was the insertive partner. Fast-forward to earlier this morning (October 30th, roughly 15 hours ago) I noticed pain while urinating and discharge, which I was assuming is Gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia.

So a couple hours later I went down to the health department, got tested and treated. They gave me a shot in the butt (I don't know what it was with) and they also gave me 4 pink pills to take, which i took right away (Zithromax) that was roughly 12 hours ago. I'm already starting to feel better. I still have pain and discharge but it's beginning to subside.

I also contacted the guy I hooked up with and he got treated today too. But here are my questions, How long am I contagious with Gonorrhea & Chlamydia after treatment?

I was just asking because there's another guy who i am supposed to be meeting up with on November 9th, We aren't going to have sex that day, but eventually we will be soon after, and I don't want to put him at risk.... (We ARE NOT going to have unprotected Anal sex at all if that's what you're thinking, but I was more worried if he gives me Oral Sex)

So how long would I be contagious with this? Please help.

If you have chlamydia, that isn't transmitted orally, so that's not a concern.

The clinic should have told you that you can't have any sexual contact for 7 days, or until your symptoms disappear, whichever is longer.

By Nov 9th, you should be cured, but you might consider using a condom for oral sex so that you don't get another infection. If you receive oral sex, you can get gonorrhea, syphilis, NGU and genital herpes type 1 (if you don't already have hsv1 orally).

Giving oral sex puts you at risk for oral gonorrhea and syphilis.

Condoms come in flavors that even kinda taste like the flavors they say they are. ;)

actually you can get Chlamydia from receiving oral sex (if a guy puts his mouth on your penis). it's happened to me before years ago.

and they did say the symptoms should go away in a few days. I got treated on the morning of October 30th (10am). it's november 2nd right now (2 am) im already feeling better. the discharge has stopped but i still have some slight pain but it's nothing too bad.

thank you.
Are you sure? Did you actually test positive for chlamydia, or did you just have symptoms of it, and they guessed it was chlamydia? You'd be the first I ever knew of, and the first many experts ever knew, to actually test positive for chlamydia from oral sex alone.

I'm not doubting you - I'm doubting your doctors. There's something called NGU, which is essentially any infection in the urethra that is caused by anything but gonorrhea. It can be caused by normal mouth bacteria, things like strep, adenovirus (which causes bronchitis and other upper respiratory infections), and a host of other things. The symptoms are very similar to chlamydia.
And I'm glad you're feeling better. :)
@auntiejessi
it was actually Chlamydia. they called me back and my test came back positive for it. and also the guy who gave me oral sex tested positive for Gonnerhea and Chlamydia in his mouth. they said that's uncommon but it can and does happen.
and thank you. im feeling much better now.
Same thing happened to me. I hadn’t engaged in any intercourse for over a year. Received a head job and got chlamydia. He had it in his throat too. So I’m afraid you’re info is wrong auntjessi :(
Shane it says on your profile that you are a female, it would be a very very unorthodox way of getting chlamydia that way, as the epithelial cells way back in the throat are capable of sustaining the parasite, and there will be symptoms if it is in the throat, not to mention that it is very difficult for elementary bodies to get into the saliva from that area of the throat. It is far more likely to get it from dry rubbing of genitals that oral sex, and females are much more likely to transmit it during oral sex just because the penis can make contact with the back of the throat, however I have never heard of male to female transmission when the female is the recipient of oral sex. However it is, all the best in clearing the pest.
Must be a typo. I’m a gay male. So unfortunately your post above is void.
