I travelled to sweden and all I got was an STD.

Over This august I went to sweden.  I had unprotected sex but no symtoms developed for about a month.  Starting in september I started to have a sort of light ache in my upper left testicle and in the tube area above it.  I went to a urologist and he wasnt too worried, telling me I had epidymitis.  He gave me some antibotic, and it help4ed slightly but when I went off it it came back fully.  I did not go back for about 2 weeks thinking it was something minor, then I was shocked to realize I was having a lot more clear mucousy stuff coming from my penis during erections.  I also notice the end of my penis is like wet a lot of the time during the day.  I have some uncomfort during urination and sometinea real burning.  I went back and the doctor told me I have an NSA, I was put on another antibiotic but had the same story: mild relief follwed by everything coming back.

Any ideas on what I could have?  Im fed up with this doctor and I think hes incompetant.  Should I go to the std clinic?  Note:I'm in college in the south so good medical help is hard to find, should I wait 10 days to go back home where theres better doctors?  Please help guys, this is really destroying my life.

Retesting for chlamydia is a waste of time IMO, it's going to be negative again.  I agree with above, test for Trich or test for Mycoplasma/Ureaplasma.  Or do both, if you don't mind spending the money.  Those tests are available from LabCorp.

just to add, I had a swab test done, I can only gather the type of tests by what the email sent said: :Tests: (1) Chlamydia/GC, DNA Probe w/Rflx

Update: Thanks guys, when I first had the soreness, aching in my left testicle i was given the gonnhorria and chlamydia test, both of which were negative.  That was in the beginning of september.  I havent had un protected sex with anyone since, is there anty chance the std wasnt developed enough and I should get retested??
More disturbing is that about 2 weeks ago my girlfriend began having pain during intercourse, and last night bleeding during and after.
I found a place to go monday morning and I plan on demanding to be tested for everything.  I know that chyamydia is the most common in sweden but I was cleared for that so I'm hoping it isnt something obscure that wont get picked up on a test.

Yes, you need to be tested to figure out what you have.   NSU is not a real diagnosis, figure out which organism is causing the infection, and then treat it.  Start with chlamydia, it's the most likely, but if that is negative, test for mycoplama and ureaplasma.  If that is negative, tests for trich.   Then you'll know which antibiotic will work the best.

Don't wait the 10 days, someone can give you a NAAT for gonorrhea/chlamydia, those tests are quite common.  I'd start there.
