Is this an anal HPV wart or a skin infection?

I am a heterosexual male who was tested for all STDs 6 months ago (with no new partners) and no history of any kind of skin lesion anywhere on my body besides maybe acne

A few weeks ago two hard indurated nodules (itchy and somewhat painful) have appeared between the area under my testicle and my anus

While taking this photo i noticed what looks like a black skin tag right on the opening of my anus (this is neither itchy nor painful and honestly i havent noticed it until I snapped the photo for this website)

I have marked these areas with a yellow marks, the two upper nodules are hard, mobile, indurated, itchy, and about the size of an eraser on top of a pencil

I dont have insurance (job's insurance wont be active until 30-40 days from now) and dont know what to do

I am just very disturbed by these lesions, they seem to be getting harder by the day and before the midline lesion was the only one and now there are others that are popping up.

I have no pre-existing conditions, do not smoke, do not drink, do not use illicit substances, and eat healthy and exercise.

They could be warts, but if they are the size of a pencil eraser, that's pretty big for a wart.

Do you have info on your insurance yet? Does it cover pre-existing conditions? If it does, see if you can find a doctor who will see you as a self-pay. Many doctors will offer you a self-pay discount, meaning you pay considerably less than what you'd pay if you had insurance (or they charge self-pay patients normal rates and jack it up for insurance - you can look at that however you want lol).

I'm not sure you'll know for sure what they are unless it's biopsied. Obviously, that's going to be on the more expensive side of things. If your insurance does cover pre-existing things, get it checked now, and see what the doctor says. If it needs a biopsy, ask the doctor what they think about waiting for the biopsy, or about how much that would cost, keeping in mind that there would be lab fees as well as doctor fees.

If they weren't changing, I'd be more comfortable telling you to wait, but since they are getting harder and more are appearing, I don't feel so good about you waiting.

Alternatively, you could try an STD clinic, many of which are free or low cost, but I'm afraid they would tell you they are anal warts without a second thought, and just try to burn them off.

You could also call your local health department and ask if they have any services for those without insurance, and see if they have any dermatologists working with them.

Let me know what happens.
