NGU / Epididymitis

Hi I was diagnosed with NGU on 10th September and treated with doxycycline for 7 days as suffered painful testicle and penile discharge. The nurse suspected chlamydia however test results showed negative for chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and hiv.

I had unprotected sex on 24th July and did not begin to experience symptoms until 1st September.

The antiobiotics cleared the discharge in 10 days but I had to go to my doctor as the testicle pain remained. He diagnosed epididymitis and prescribed of ofloxacin for 2 weeks which seemed to have cured this. He explained many other germs can cause these symptoms and not necessarily std.

As I never found the cause of my urethritis is it likely that this wasn’t std related? I have googled that mycoplasma genitalium could cause this but I have not been tested for this?
