Needless blame?

A woman I had unprotected sex with called me a week later and told me that her pap tested positive for trich.  I went to my clinic the next day.  My urine test was negative, and, my swab culture ended up to be negative as well.  My physician did not treat me because I was asymptomatic.

The woman I was with is a public health nurse.  I'm an ER nurse.  She beleives that I can still have it and pass it on even though I test negative...that makes no sense to me.  Who is right?

You should have been treated. No one is blameless if you are having unprotected sex with someone you are not exclusive with.

it is hard to detect trich in males. we typically recomend treating the male partner without even bothering to test them.
