Oral Gonorrhea

So, earlier this week I posted about the risk of oral sex and HIV with a mouth sore and was pleased to find out that my risk was like nothing... However, I have since developed a VERY sore throat and fever with white spots, puss, sore neck, and sore ears.  My new concern is over oral gonorrhea.  I went to the doctor for a culture, but she said it will take a few days, so in the mean time, I thought maybe I could post here and get some opinions/feedback.  Many thanks.

You need to follow up with your doctor.  Why is he treating you for oral gonorrhea?  Did he test you?  It sounds more like strep or maybe even a regular old virus, in which case, 500 mg of Cipro will do nothing.

Since it is usually asymptomatic, I have no idea.

Good to know.  Out of curiosity, if it was oral gonorrhea, how long would it take after treatment for feel better?  I took 1 500 mg tablet of Cipro from my doctor on Wednesday, and I have gotten worse since then...
