Possible Hiv-contaminated water Cut on Hand

I work in a dental office and I was in our sterilization room with gloved hands putting instruments in the ultrasonic machine, the basket in the machine had a sharp edge and cut through the glove and slightly cut my finger. Is there a risk of transmission here? Thank you for all of your answers in advance.

I totally agree.  There wouldn't have been live virus on any of the equipment.

Report it to your supervisor though.

So you cut your finger. HIV does not live well outside of the body so if you came into any contact with blood it was probably dried up and would not contain active HIV.

You really had no risk.

To add to my question. The ultrasonic is filled with water, thus my finger was wet with a slight cut.
