Protected sex with African hooker
I recently got drunk and went to a bar where I live in Oman. There were some hookers at the bar. I took one home with me. We had protected sex for about ten seconds. I was semi hard so I gave up having sex with her. The condom remained on an intact throughout. However, she then proceeded to give me a rimjob. I also fingered her and then masturbated.
She told me after that her boss beats her and she had a burn scar on her face which was from her boss. I am new to this country and it’s awful that this happens. She seemed so happy at the bar.

I have seen conflicting statements by doctors. HHH has said its very low risk if receiving anything from the rimjob. However the following link the doctor says there’s a 40pc risk per episode.... that’s freaking me out.

The rates of syphilis are low generally, and oral sex of any kind is lower risk than vaginal or anal intercourse, so when HHH says receiving a rimjob is very low risk, he is taking all of that into consideration.
The 25-40% chance of getting syphilis is if the person giving you a rimjob has syphilis. These are two different scenarios. HHH is giving a general risk. Dr. Cummings is giving the chances if someone is infected.
"If she has syphilis then you run a risk of between 25 and 40% per episode of acquiring syphilis from her." Note the "If she has syphilis...". She would also have to have an active syphilis sore in her mouth in order to transmit it to you via a rimjob.

Probably nothing. STDs die pretty quickly after being exposed to air, and hands aren't a good way to transmit STDs.
You could also get genital herpes type 1 from the rimjob. If you already have hsv1, you can't get it again.
You don't need most of the testing you are getting done. Ask for a gonorrhea test anally, a syphilis blood test, and a type specific IgG herpes blood test (and don't be surprised if they won't do that. The UK doesn't like herpes blood tests at all. You probably won't be able to talk them into it, either, but give it a try.)
If you have other possible exposures, then get all the testing they offer. If you are only concerned with this exposure, you don't need HIV, chlamydia or NSU. If she performed oral sex on you (her mouth to your penis), then ask for NSU.

Thanks v much aunt Jessie for that helpful advice. My exposure was just that once. It will be 21 days on Friday (when I take my test) since the exposure. Is that enough time for the tests that you recommend to be conclusive?.
Given that she is a hooker and not in a western country where they look after themselves (she is beaten by her pimp she told me after, to my horror) I can only assume she is infected with all of these horrible diseases/infections. Thanks for the comprehensive message. In fact, I gave her the condom, she didn’t have one. This raises the risks of her having an STI as she most likely exhibited the same behaviour with others who Wrecklessly have unprotected sex. I happen to be heading to London anyway, so it’s not an imposition. However I will be seeing my girlfriend who will find it unusual if I use protection with her (she’s on the pill).

Also, In calculating the risk of syphilis I should multiply 40pc with the risk of her actually having an open sore or chancre. What proportion do you think of syphilis carriers would have an open sore that could cause the spread? I’m not sure how common syphilis is in general either, but I’ll assume it’s 100pc for these purposes considering the source

Syphilis rates in every country are far lower than that of chlamydia, gonorrhea and HIV. Thanks so much for another thoughtful answer. The first thing I do when I land in the UK tomorrow is get a test. The results should be same day as they offer that service and I’m paying lots of £ for it! That’s unless there is a strike by the courier service which is used to take the samples to the lab which I heard there is... anyways.
I don’t see my gf until 3 days after I land (3 days after my test). If the results aren’t ready by then I won’t get intimate with her just to be safe. I took a test for All the things we mentioned including HIV and all cane out negative after 21 days following the event. The Doc said that the results are fully conclusive and the window period and passed and I can now relax . Thank you for your help and advice. All the best. R
