Question about Condoms

I am super paranoid about STI's / STD's. I went to amsterdam a few days ago (heart broken from breaking up with my x) and for the first time in my life (with much encouragement from my mates) I overcame my fear and had sex with a prostitute.... one problem,

Whilst I made sure I didnt kiss or touch her and wore a condom at all times, I noticed that my condom was around1.5cm away from the base of my penis (ie did not reach the end) .... now im really worried, my friends told me I have nothing to worry about as I wore protection and the tip of the penis is the most important bit and I dont have any symptoms..... do I have something to worry about??

Please could a medical professional or someone in the know help me out here, being sleep deprived is no fun...

Thank you for taking the time to read this

Yes, try not to be fearful and just always use protection.

Thank you for replying, I made sure I took a discreet look at her vaginal area before I entered it, it did'nt have any spots or blisters or scars... Im assuming that puts me in the clear (i know its not 100% clear but you know what im on about)

You only have a small risk for HPV, as the base of the penis being uncovered is often an area of transmission. This is assuming she even currently has an active strain of HPV. Condoms work about 90% to protect from HPV. Otherwise you had safe sexual contact.
