Retest for Gonorrhea

About 6 months ago I was tested positive for gonorrhea and got treated and the symptoms disappeared 2 weeks after taking the treatment. Now about 10 days back some new symptoms showed up and had taken doxy twice a day for few days and saw no improvement. Am thinking of getting retested in next few days. If my gonorrhea was never cured, would the result still be positive or would be a false negative after taking doxy? Please help. Thanks.

1)Gonorrhea has nearly full resistance to doxy.
2) doxy wont work
3) if gonorrhea aint cured, test will be positive.
4) stop all antibiptics before test. U r making things very complicated
5) your symptoms might not necessarily be caused by gonorrhea

Thanks for the reply. About 6 months ago I was tested positive for gonorrhea then was given heavy antibiotics 1g ceftrixone injection plus 1g azythromycin for 3 consecutive days. From last one week I have been feeling intermittent needle like pain (throbbing) in penis and in an area (could be perineum)around testicles and recently a bladder pain while urinating. Could that still be gonorrhea? Was it never gone? Also I got tested for several other STD's (chlamydia, sypilis, herpes, HIV) but was tested negative. Have been tested negative thrice for HIV in last 6 months. Should I get myself retested for gonorrhea? When I was tested positive for gonorrhea I had only symptoms like burning, redness and itching on penis. Not the symptoms I mentioned above.also I have no sexual contact all these months.

If I go for retest tomorrow and the result will still be positive even though am still on doxy? Is this what you mean? Thanks

1) it is recommended to stop all antibiotics for 2 weeks before retesting
2) have u tested after receiving treatment? One should do a test of cure.
3) it may or may not be stds, recommend u go seek diagnosis from doctor
