Should I worry about STD from 10 years exposure?

Hi,

On 2009, almost 10 years ago I had one unprotected sex with unknow status of STD. This unprotected only lasted for a few seconds.

Anyhow, after that I have done multiple test for only HIV-1,2 and Hep B, and C at 1, 3, 6 months. Even I repeated before marriage which was 7 years after that exposure, all negative.

Now, almost 10 years after that exposure, I started to worry about other STDs such syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia which I never get tested. My worries came after having a joint transient osteoporosis, and fluid which might related to infection - not confirmed yet. Another reason, I'm worry about infertility as I and wife trying to have a baby.

Should I get tested for those STD ( syphilis, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia)? Even though I have had no symptoms related STDs, neither my wife have any symptoms related STD?

Also, I have denoted blood to give plasma 2 years ago, which I guess they screen for syphilis, am I right?

Yes, they likely screened for syphilis when you donated blood, but check with the donor center to be sure.

It is HIGHLY unlikely that you got an STD from a few seconds of contact, and even more unlikely that after 10 years, you'd not have any symptoms.

If it remains a concern, just get testing. It seems like something they'd ask for with infertility treatment anyway, so it wouldn't hurt to rule that out now. I'd be very surprised if you were positive for anything.

Thanks a lot for your response, maybe I'm over concerned. I'll ask Dr. if I need to get tested.
