Strange UTI Symptoms

About 4 weeks ago I had unprotected sex with a girl I met online. She had disclosed to me that she knew she was a silent carrier of HSV-1 but other than that had been careful about avoiding unprotected sex (she offered me condoms but we ended up not using one in the heat of the moment).

A couple days later I did not feel so well and stayed home from work. No fever, but felt achy, etc. Could have just been a cold. A few days after that came down with a burning sensation on inside of urethra. It was nearly constant but would generally disappear after sleeping. It became worse upon urination or flexing the muscles used in emptying urethra.

Pain has persisted since (for about 2.5 weeks). Occasionally it will go away for several hours and then come back. Tip of penis was swollen right around the base of the glans for a few days. Doctor said inside of urethra was obviously irritated. Absolutely no open sores.

Chlamydia/Gonorrhea are both negative
I've taken two antibiotics (one for Chlamydia/UTI and another for Trichomoniasis). Doxycycline seemed to help a little bit for a while but was not completely effective.

The girl does not have any symptoms and insists she does not have HSV, although I do not know how she could know this since she admitted she had hooked up with someone abroad (albeit with careful use of condom) a week before being with me.

Is there anything I'm missing here? Are there any other bacteria/parasites that could be causing something like this?

Oh, one other thing. Doctor did a full examination and there was light pain when pressing on my bladder area.

Went back for the HSV IGg + IGm test (this was roughly 3 weeks after possible exposure). All were negative (<0.91) which really surprised me. I'm almost 30 and do not even have HSV 1.

Given that I still have had no lesions whatsoever and the recent exposure and long-term exposure tests are all negative, I think I'm probably fine and it isn't herpes.

However, symptoms have somewhat persisted. Generally they will flare up for a day or so, I'll feel just generally unwell, light pain in side, burning urethra, and then it will feel a little better.

One thing I have noticed, when it flares up my pee generally gets super dark yellow.

Ideas?

The sharp pain/tingling has not ceased and the feeling I have to urinate is getting worse. The antibiotics do not seem to have done anything.

This is possibly anxiety, so I've decided to go get both a herpes IGg and IGm test tomorrow morning to just make sure.

Will post my results! If I am positive, this is incredibly strange as I do not have any visible lesions.

With the negative tests I don;t see this as a STD issue, not sure what it could be though. Maybe just anxiety?
