Syphilis from naked massage, maybe worrying over nothing.

I had a b2b massage from and briefly my penis rubbed against her vulva, 2 weeks later I noticed that I had a sore on my penis which I thought was herpes, I have herpes so took my medication to help the body fight it and the sore disappeared in around 6 days, never really blistering or scabbing like the usual herpes blisters although it was under the foreskin so I suppose it would be difficult to scab in a moist area.

I am worried about syphilis, as the sore didn't seem like my normal herpes but I didn't pay too much attention to it at the time I just though it was a bit strange that it never really scabbed.

1) how long do syphilis chancres usually last for ?

2) would it be easy to tell the diff between a herpes and syphilis chancre ?

3) would it be possible to get it on the shaft of the penis just from a quick rubbing against the vagina?

I have googled this but seem to be getting contradicting answers that they last 2 to 6 weeks or disappear in a few days.

I have also a slight aching feeling in my penis, doesn't hurt when I urinate or anything.

Regards
SP

Here's an old thread that tries to compare the two.  https://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs---STIs/Difference-between-herpes-and-primary-syphilis-sore/show/980040.  The main thing I took from that thread is that your sores showed up a bit too early for syphilis which usually don't show until around 21 days after exposure on average. From the CDC website:
"The time between infection with syphilis and the start of the first symptom can range from 10 to 90 days (average 21 days)." Here's the link in full, regarding transmission, symptoms, etc. http://www.cdc.gov/std/syphilis/STDFact-Syphilis.htm

Here's more info on syphilis  https://www.std-gov.org/blog/chancre/

I've read chancres can last 3 to 6 weeks and then disappear.

Yes, a chancre would last at minimum 3 weeks, so this isn't likely to be syphilis, and you didn't really have a big risk for it.

If it were me, I wouldn't even bother to test.

Thanks for your reply

Ive researched the site in depth and the comments surrounding risk and theoretical risk from the transfer of syphilis in this way, that in conjunction with your comment on the duration of the chancre helps put my mind at rest.

Anxiety is a real mind clouder in these situations.

Anxiety sucks, for sure.

I'm glad we helped put your mind at ease. :)
