Hi guys!
I have been sexually active these days but I do practice safe sex all the time. Recently, I have a lump in my mons pubis area and it is painless. It is like a big pimple. Just couple of hours ago, when I took a bath, I noticed it is bleeding. It is like a sore now. I assumed that is chancre in Primary Stage of Syphilis. I have this before as far as I remember.
I had VDRL twice before and it was negative. It is more than a year since I had my last test. Please help me out. Thank you.

You don't need a specialist.  Any doc, like your PCP.

Ok great. Would it be a Dermatologist or Infectious Disease  Specialist?

I see no need but follow your doctor's advice.

Would you recommend voluntary VDRL? My last test was January 2013. Thanks

Sounds like an ingrown hair that could have possibly gotten infected. But of course get checked to be certain

This isn't syphilis, sounds more like a non-STD skin infection.  But see a doctor or STD clinic if you want real reassurance.
