Could i have gotten an std from a very brief encounter?

Hey around feb 22 I had a brief hook up sexual encounter with a man i performed oral for maybe 1 2 minutes and thats it i didnt like it so i backed out and made an excuse. Around last week its april 14 now i got a random sore throat with no other symptons and i read that can be a symptom of chlamydia or gonnereah what are the chances of me getting something from this guy he was older in his 40's and said he has nothing but i am very worried i might be carrying around something and might infect my current partner, what are my chances i got something?

Well you probably aren’t going to like this answer!

People lie. You should never take someone at their word for being clean of STDs. If you didn’t see RECENT results, I wouldn’t trust them. I work in the STD clinic for my local health department and deal with people being lied to by partners every day!

It only takes a single exposure to contract an STD. If you are worried, get tested! You will need to request a throat swab for chlamydia and gonorrhea, because a pharyngeal infection isn’t going to show up in a urine test.  I recommend you just have a full STD panel completed that will include syphilis and HIV testing, too. Syphilis is on the rise and in some people can cause symptoms in the throat and mouth.

You're recommending syphillus, HIV testing for 1-2 minute encounter with an older male with no ejaculation, no other contact and a 1 time occurence in all my sexual experience? thats seems a little surreal even if im paranoid. The consensus on this board by doctors is im extremely low risk to essentially no risk from what I've read. Also i asked the guy way after the occurence over email, people do lie but i just wouldnt see the point in him lieing over email him being openly bi it just makes even less sense. Also i already saw a doctor and said my throat looks fine just looks like a viral infection and ive got no other symptoms and the symptoms I have is a mild sore throat. Odd answer. But thanks for taking the time i suppose

Although a bit riskier but if your oral health is fine and there is no deepthroat then the risk is very low to none.

Is that so and I meant to put 1-2 minutes not 12 minutes does that change anything?
Yeah I was answering it based on the one to two minutes.
Is it odd to have symptons almost 35 days after the encounter and how long does a gonorrehea sore throat last mines been present since the 30th of march till now.
Also I went to th doctor finally and she told me there was a possibility but she said my throat looked a little red and that it looked likea minor viral infection and perscribed me a  gurging medicine to ease my symptoms which arent very bad at all just a bit of a scratchy throat, should i be reassured by this? Its literally the only time ive ever done this aswell.
I think you are overly anxiety about the whole experience. My response is still the same as above.

Listen to the doctor and take the meds. Its probably just cold/flu (hence viral infection). You will be fine.

My throat culture came in and it was negative so I feel a lot better thank you for your advice my urine didnt come in but i did nothing involving my penis so that is for sure negative. but id like to ask one last question cause someone else commented on here talking about syphillis I dont believe i have it because i dont have the chancre and didnt see a chancre on the guy but could there be a chancre in my throat that is causing the sore throat my doctor looked in my throat but the pain feels like inside my throat deep down. I know this is a dumb question and im honestly not extremely.paranoid anymore but i just want to be sure so i can move on. I was told doing a syphillis test was pointleas given my circumstances.
Yes you are right. Syphilis will show up as obvious symptoms so people who have gotten it will definitely turn to the doctor for medication. And you will turn him away if you have spotted the symptoms too. So that's why syphilis is rarely the case of transmission for oral.
