This is completely unusual

I was exposed to the herpes back in Oct 2009 the person I was with was HSV 1  & 2 positive. Of course I did not know that until 2 1/2 months after the one time encounter. She performed unprotected oral sex on me, we kissed and I touched her genitals with my hand. Unitl this encounter I have not had any health issues.

I experienced some soreness at the tip of my penis tingling/burning along with burning in my thighs and buttocks. I went to see a urologist 7 weeks post exposure and he put me on doxy for 2 weeks which cleared up my frequent urintaion. I had a full panel of std's at that time and everything came up negative including, gon, hep. syph, hiv, hsv 1 & hsv 2.  via type specific IgG

I continue to feel burning in my buttock, thighs, tailbone area and calves. I even get muscles facilations in my calf. I tested again for hiv at three months and that was negative and I tested at 15 weeks and 17 weeks for HSV through a herpeselect immunoblot and another IgG.  The burning continues as does electric type shock throughout my body even in the upper extremities. I have pimples on both sides of my buttocks and thghs. I have had folliculitis since high school and the dermatologist who I saw thought that is all this was.  I also had sores on my tounge they were like cuts and this happened at the end of November.  ( I believed them to be cakjer sores) Here are my questions. I also get sharp pains in my abdomen.

1. What are the chances I will become positive for HSV after testing positive post 17 weeks exposure?
2. They say the test are not as accurate for HSV1 could they just be missing the antibodies?
3. I have seen on other sites as well as this one people talking about post herpetic nueralgia which is usually with shingles but it seems to be more common than maybe thought with genital herpes could it be this?
4. I have not seen any blisters on my penis but the spots on my butt and thighs has me concern.
5. Since this woudl be my primary infection could I have auto-innoculated myself in other areas of my body?
6. What else could cause all these symptoms?

if this was all the exposure you had, you were not at risk. whatever is going on, is not herpes related. No need for any further herpes testing either.

According to your name, you want expert advice.  Well, expert forums cost $15 to post. Do not be surprised if someone random, or rather, someone who is not a doctor replies to you.
