Time for Gonorrhea to heal (visually)

Two weeks ago I went to the doc with discharge/pain after oral sex.  He took swabs etc and a urine sample, and a week later test results confirmed gono (during the week of wait I was not given anything but bactrim), and results were clear for everything else.  I was given 3 days ago now a injection into me (rear side ;)) and at the start I have had diahorrea like when going to the toilet - this has improved now.  My symptoms for the gono are mostly gone however the end of my penis is still red on either side, I am concerned - how long should this take to heal?

Saw him today, you were right regarding possibly fungal.
He says theres nothing wrong with me, just that the antibiotics have taken too much out of me being that gave me 3 different types and only 1 was required.  I have some fungal cream and I have some stuff to put the goodies back in to my body and within 12 hours of starting the regime, almost all of my symptoms are gone.  YAY

Thx AJ i really do mean it, your messages  have kept me from getting too down.

Well, if it gets worse over the weekend, then either call your doctor (they'll have someone on call) or go to an urgent care or ER, depending on the severity.

If you get a fever, nausea, vomiting, etc., go to urgent care or the ER.

Feel better,

Never withhold info about pain from your doctor.  Not only can they give you advice and/or meds to relieve it, its an important part of diagnosing you.

I can't tell you to take meds.  I'm not a doctor.

Thanks, it certainly feels like that area.  Thanks AJ your the best.
It's a bit painful again now, should i take another nurofen to get me thru till morning?
It's also a bit of a worry when u get three lots of biotics for 1 problem then it causes another :(

I should have told them i'm in pain perhaps they would have actually helped me out today.

It may have, and I'd hold off on any more meds until you get checked out.

Maybe you have a urinary tract infection.

Hay AJ sorry to keep bothering you

Well I went back he couldnt work it out and just gave me the topical antibiotic.  I havent used it because I am sick of antibiotics!! (Hes given me bactrim, something for chlamydia which I didnt have and a large injection for gono).  Today it looks less red, more pinky skin coloured but still raised.

However, i have slight pain above in my low abs/groin region.  I took an anti inflammator (nurofen) and its feeling good again.  I've rung him but cant get in till tomorrow.  Is it possible that all these antibiotics in short amount of time have caused me to get something else?  My results are clear for STDs.  I'm so over this.  Very depressed now.

Yeah i'm pretty sure he said antibiotic?
No but I have to go in to see him and collect a script, which he will bill for without doubt.  And yes i think he puts phone time to his visits, last one wasnt cheap lol

He's billing you for phone time?

You can try the antibiotic cream, but use it on a small area first.  Some men have reported allergy-like side effects from it, and have had swelling.  Are you sure he said antibiotic and not antifungal?

Aj

Doc rang today, the swabs and urine taken same day when he gave me the injection (the test a week ago before this was confirmed gono) came back today all clear, nothing.  He thinks the bactrim helped to get rid of most of it before the injection, and any remainders would have gone after the injection?  I told him it's still 'red' but otherwise no pain etc and he advised topical antibiotics to clear it up?  Does this sound right to you.  At this stage i'll go with anything to be done with it lol

Yet another doctors bill tomorrow ugh ;-S

Give it a few more days, and then follow up with your doctor.

OK.  It's still red after almost 5 days tho it is alot less red-dy, but still appear inflamed as such.  I guess I am still paranoid, but I will wait at least a week because it did go for a week before he gave me treatment.

I have no pain, no discharge, just redness on either side at the end...The diahorrea is 75% gone..:(

There aren't too many treatments for gonorrhea, so I'd assume they would just try and retreat you with the same med.

But don't get ahead of yourself - you might be just fine.

Thanks AJ.  I assume if it doesnt go away they'll give me different antibiotics?

No sex for 7 days, no problem, after that I dont want to go there at all, am feeling a bit depressed that it happened over something so simple.

It can take a week.  If the redness doesn't go away, get that checked out as antibiotics can cause fungal infections like yeast.

And no sex for 7 days, and make sure to notify your partners from the last month or two.
