Unprotected with Sex Worker a few times

Hi, I had unprotected oral, anal an vaginal sex about a month ago. And another time 2 weeks ago. Both with sex workers. I understand it is risky. However my question is... If I get tested for all stds. Would I be safe to not worry if I get a negitive result? If not what should I be re-tested for an how long shall I wait?

Thanks!

I have not been tested yet... I will be making an appointment as I didn't know how long I should wait to be tested.

For the most part yes answered my questions. I might wait a few more weeks since my last exposure, which only happened 2 weeks ago.

There are no hard and fast rules about STD testing. Although I would encourage you to start using condoms for vaginal or anal sex, even without them the chance of any infection is low for any single exposure. But not zero, and the chance of an STD rises with the number and frequency of such events. Anyway, congratulations for being tested -- that's of course wise even when the risk is relatively low.

Standard STD testing should always include a urine test for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and blood tests for HIV and syphilis. The urine testing is accurate any time more than 2-3 days after the last exposure, the blood tests at 6 weeks or more.

Special testing depends on specific exposures. In your situation, no other tests are recommended routinely. Women should follow standard recommendations for pap smears (which is the only test for HPV that either men or women should have). Blood tests for HSV, anal testing for gonorrhea and chlamydia, and throat testing for gonorrhea are sometimes recommended based on high risk exposures.

Maybe the most controversial testing issue is whether or not to have routine testing for HSV, in the absence of symptoms. Some experts recommend it from time to time, others would almost never test for HSV unless there are symptoms of possible herpes.

Does that answer your questions?

I'll end by repeating the obvious advice about condoms. It's really dumb to have unprotected vaginal or anal penetration with commercial sex workers!
