What’s going on if I took Azithromycin for chlamydia and now how BV?

My current boyfriend found out from his ex girlfriend that she had chlamydia. They were dating 6 months ago and she told him he needed to get tested. He got tested and he was positive for Chlamydia. I went to my Gynecologist and she treated me for Chlamydia because I never had any type of STD ever. I took the Azithromycin last week Wednesday and a few days later I am experiencing an odor. I have had BV before so I know what’s that’s like but a STD I don’t know what to expect or what is next. Can someone tell me do I need to be treated for BV even if the Azithromycin is still working in my body. I read the Azithromycin last a while in the body. Can someone tell me what’s going on.

If you have an infection vaginally, it can throw the delicate balance of good and bad bacteria, which can cause BV or yeast.

Azithromycin doesn't cure BV, so you'll need to talk to your doctor about it, and get a different medication.

Get checked though - don't try to treat yourself. You could have a yeast infection from the azithromycin - it's common to get a yeast infection from antibiotics - and that treatment is different than BV treatment.

I'm sorry this is happening - either yeast or BV sucks.
