any ideas?

im worried i picked up something from my ex-girlfriend. we hooked up about a month after we broke up, and maybe 2 weeks later i woke up one morning and there were 4 or 5 red bumps on my penis, only on the shaft and they were spaced far apart. shortly after (that night) it started burning slightly when i would urinate and my urethra became swolen (possibly causing the burning). the bumps resembled insect bites, they never formed blisters, never hurt but began to itch shortly after they appeared. it was odd because the bumps showed up all of a sudden (they weren't there the night before). two days or so after showing up it appeared they were receding somewhat and the burning went away. i'm wondering if it could possibly be an allergic reaction...the night before they showed up i showered at a friend's house and he had no soap...i had to bathe with a cheap dandruff shampoo, which im sure didnt do too much for cleaning, but i'm still worried because of the time span since we last had sex and when these symptoms arose. note there was no discharge from my penis, and the itchy sores never hurt but became abrased mainly from scratching. any help or ideas would be great!

You need to see your doctor.  It could well be an allergic reaction, but your doctor needs to make that decision.  Go soon.

the reason im worried is because some of the symptoms sound like herpes, but the lack of the "blisters" makes me wonder. they're still there about 3 days after showing up, but they aren't any worse, just itching
