mixed symptoms...?

hey. i had unprotected sex about 3-4 months ago (im a girl).  i got tested about a fortnight after the incident and was given the all clear.

about 3 weeks ago, i noticed around my genitals were painful but there was no sign of anything down there that i could see - normal looking but just painful (like burning on the outside).

in the shower this morning i noticed 2 small lumps - on closer inspection it looks like it might be small groups of tiny lumps but i cant be sure. the appearance of them looks like herpes from what ive seen on the internet.

i am confused as information i have read says that genital warts are in groups (which sounds like this) but that genital warts are not painful (which these are)

from pictures ive seen it looks like herpes but the incubation period for herpes is about 14 days - these symptoms have only occured 3 months later.

i am going to get tested but i just wondered in the meantime if anyone had any ideas or thoughts as to what this could be??

thanks

points to these being the signs of genital warts, however as they are painful (which genital warts apparently are not)

thank you for the answer. i suspected that about it being to early to be tested but the hospital said there was no need to go back when i asked if i should at a later date :/ bit worrying!

im quite scared of what it might be as the symptoms dont fit with any one thing.

oh well own silly fault. suitably ashamed. thanks for the advice & ill let you know the outcome.

the only std testing that was accurate 2 weeks post encounter was trich, gonorrhea and chlamydia, any other std testing was done too early.

herpes can appear many ways on a person. Most folks already have hsv1 orally, whether they know it or not so they never get the "classic", clustered, multiple lesions with their initial infection.

at this point, going to be seen today or tomorrow is the best course of action to get better answers. if they suspect genital herpes as the cause, they should be doing a lesion culture and typing, not just a visual diagnosis only.

stop back and let us know how your appointment went!
