mystery illness. possibly herpes?

hey all, and thanks for taking the time to read.

about a month ago, i had unprotected sex with a new partner. two weeks later i developed a single sore on my labia minora. it was huge the first day i noticed it, and the next day it shrunk down to about half the size it was (about the size of a typical pimple). it never opened, and never created any problems for me, but two weeks later, i still feel a tiny tiny lump where it was and it feels tender when i squeeze it (still never came to a head or formed an ulcer though). Doctors don't think it's herpes, but I have to wait a couple months to know for sure from a blood test. But it also gave me swollen lymph nodes in the groin on the same side which confuses me. Somedays they are still swollen and hurt. I have severe back pain, jaw pain, and leg pain accompanied with twitching and also have noticed tiny itchy single bumps showing up on random places all over my body. Don't know if this means anything, but I thought I'd mention it.

Any clues as to what is going on here??? I'm in immense pain and the doctor's aren't sure whats going on. Tests for Gonn & Chlamyd were negative.

Thanks for the help ahead of time!

Just to follow up on this YEARS LATER - I was negative for both HIV and herpes. The lesions went away and would come back occasionally. I have, however, since been diagnosed repeatedly with lyme disease, endometriosis and am very sick as of 2013. I have persistently elevated lipase levels, upper back pain but negative CT scans. I figured I would post my update

if you are still with this partner, ask them to go for a full std screening and share their results with you.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer me. I guess the reason why I posted this question here as opposed to the herpes forum is because I thought it might be something else or mimic another STD. I'm very very paranoid about HIV.

Thanks again for your time though!

As is stated at the top of this forum, herpes questions should be asked on the herpes forum. Please ask any future herpes related questions there. thank you.

A newly acquired herpes infection isn't going to be "bad" for one day and then almost gone by the next.  Odds are that this is something else going on. The providers you saw didn't think it looked like herpes either.

Have your providers been pursuing other causes for your symptoms?  They aren't likely to be due to herpes with all these all over body symptoms.
