Azithromycin Regimen

Hello. My doctor gave me 6 days worth of Azithromycin at 500 mg each. I keep hearing that the way to rid NGU is with 1 dose of 1 g of this stuff. Would my regimen work as well?

Azithromycin has absolutely no activity against Trich.  Trichomonas is not even a bacteria.  It is used for Chlamydia, however.

Azithromycin is a drug to cure trich. i believe.   a doctor gave that to me and it was either for clymdia or trich. my tests came back saying i was clean tho, but he said it was a precaution.

Agree with curemee.  Not only would it work, it would probably have a higher rate of cure than 1 dose at 1g.  The main reason why the 1g is recommended is that the patient is very likely to be able to follow that course (take all of the medicine) since it's just all in one go.  But your course should most likely be even better.

What did he prescribe it for? If NGU or chlamydia, then yes, you should take 1 dose of 1g of zithromax
