Do symptoms of gonorrhea come and go?

This is going to be somewhat of a strange post.

So a few nights ago (3 now) I had a sexual encounter with a woman but I didn’t bring any condoms. She assured me she was clean and that they always check her at the gynecologist. While, I know that isn’t something they routinely check for I assumed she was also being tested while there.

Fast forward two days later, i haven’t been sleeping well as I’ve been having reoccurring nightmares. (I’ve been going through a lot personally)  I have this almost monologue with myself about how I jokingly roll over and think that I could start showing symptoms now. Well, I was so I jumped up in a panic, and I touched it and there wasn’t a lot honestly. Just a few drops. But now I wonder if this actually happened or if it was a dream. Since that day I haven’t shown any sights of symptoms at all. And trust me I’ve tried to coax any discharge or the like out. No burning no pain in the testicles no discharge. Nothing.

And I know these types of STI are infections and as with any infection wouldnt the symptoms become worse? I fully expected to roll over this morning and see something on my penis but nothing. Even with effort I couldn’t make it happen.

For what it’s worth I have a paralyzing fear of contracting something from a partner. So much so in fact except with partners I’ve been with long term I’ve never not used a condom.

I’m not sure what to think of all this. Suggestions?

Ok, so your exposure is that you had sex with a girl without a condom, yes?

If so, then that puts you at risk. Is it a high risk? Not  the highest but it is definatly a risk all the same.

No discharge at this stage is a good sign, albeit a bit early! The time scales to test are:

Chlamydia - 2 weeks
Gono - 2 weeks
HIV - 4 weeks (4th gen)
Syphilis - 4 to 6 weeks.

It is difficult to say statistically your risk without knowing the whole situation. Is she honest? Is she a friend or a stranger? Those questions to play a part when it comes to "trust" so that is for you decide which route you want to go down in regards to testing or a "see what happens and test on my usual intervals".

If you dont usually test, then using the numbers above, this would be a good time to start.

Oh, and dont "force" any discharge from the penis. That makes it worse.
