Does a new NGU diagnosis mean cheating?

I have recently been diagnosed with an NGU. I tested negative for gono, chlamydia, and trich multiple times. My wife and I have been together for four years now (dating and marriage). I have no reason at all to suspect her of cheating, she's a great wife actually.. but this isn't making sense to me? Is it possible that I could have gotten this recently and her not have cheated? Or that I've had it for years and not known until now? idk. please help..

Nope, there are dozens of things that can cause NGU.

NGU means non-gonoccocal urethritis, so it's basically any infection in the urethra that isn't gonorrhea. Often, it's an STD, but it isn't always.

Does your wife perform oral sex on you? Normal mouth bacteria can cause infections in the urethra, as can the bacteria that causes strep throat, adenovirus (usually causes upper respiratory viruses, bronchitis, etc.), gardnerella (the bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis), yeast, to name just a few.

You can also get it from irritants, like soaps, spermicides, or any product you might use in the area. It might also be a urinary tract infection or prostatitis.

You didn't have it for years and not know it, but there are all kinds of things that could have caused you to get it recently other than her cheating. This alone is not nearly enough evidence to prove that she cheated.

If it is an STI related, like mycoplasma or ureaplasm. Would that mean infidelity?
Those can be naturally occurring.

Did you get lab results that say either of those?

There are different types of  MG and some can be sexually transmitted, but can be naturally occurring.

If you have lab results that indicate either of these, what exactly do they say?
As AJ says it would be important to have lab results on these.  Mycoplasma Homonis can be naturally occurring (mycoplasma genitalium is not, it is vital to know the difference) and not mean anything, and there is a lot of debate regarding ureaplasma urealyticum
As for infidelity, I don't think it is wise or morally right for someone on an internet forum to make that assessment.   The only thing I would say is don't go straight to that conclusion.  Find out specifically what is causing you problems if you can
All the best
Yes, I agree with geno - he said it so much better than I did. :)
geno, I don't have the lab results in front of me rn. Waiting for my Dr to get them to me. I'm not going to that conclusion! I'm actively trying to avoid it. I just needed to know if there was a chance I (even a slim one) I could have gotten this and it not involve infidelity. Thank you so much for the response!
Have you gotten the results yet? How's it going?
