Gynecologist visit

I am concerned about a visit today.  1) How long can HPV be infectious outside of the human body?  2) How long can HSV be outside of the human body?  I had a transaginal ultrasound.  The wand was covered with a condom.  The nurse held the condomed wand in her bare hand.  3) Could she have given me anything via her bare hands touching the part that was inserted in my vagina?  Could I get anything through the condom if the wand weren't properly cleaned and the condom didn't break (that I could see)?  (If she cleaned it while I was in there, she didn't spend much time doing it.)  4) The doctor picked up the bottle of lube with the gloves she insrted in me.  Could she have picked up anything from the lube bottle, gotten on the gloves, then given it to me?  I know things like HIV and Hepatis are hard to transmit but I knew a huge percentage of women have HPV.  Thanks.

Thank you.  I always hear you can't get STDs from casual contact but here are my questions:  People can get herpes seimplex in their eyes, don't they do that from casusal contact?  Two of my friends' kids have gotten oral herpes, supposedly from touching a surface at day care after an infected child toucher her mouth then the surface.  One of my friend's kids got oral herpes from eating after his dad.  Additionally, virgins get gential HPV.  So this would almost certainly mean that would have to happen from them receiving oral sex, genital to hand to genital contact or sometime of casual contact like from a dr. office or toilet.  So I guess I'm wondering why people say those things can't be spread by casual contact when there's other evidence that they can?  Sorry, but this worries me.  I also know that before OBs washed their hands between patients they contantly spread disease.
