HIV positive and sexually active...

I have not started meds yet, and by the time i hear anything from this i will have gone to my doctor appoinment in a couple days.  Just easier to ask here than worry about it until then.

I have had a  chronic sore throat for the last couple months. Usually a course of Zicam for a week or so clears it up.  It has gotten worse over the last week and i am noticing little white bumps and extra mucus coating the back of my throat.  Is this something to worry about?  is it treatable?

I have other questions, but i feel they would be better answered by my doctor and some lab work....
