I was positve he was negative????

Ok...so recently i got tested back on May 30th for Stds and my annual papsmear. They said i was negative for all of that. it took my results 3wks to come back and i was negative! so then i got in a relationship with my boyfriend a week after my results came in and we had sex. unprotected. i think after the 2 week i noticed a change in my "area". i felt like i had a yeast infec. or a bacterical infec. so i went to get tested the end of June. June 29th it was. Within that time frame of gettin tested til June 29th of my 2ND std screening...i hadnt been with anyone BUT him. Wen i got my test results from then they said i had "Trich". He jus recently got tested today (June 21) and he came back NEGATIVE!!! now im confused....he's questioning my infedelity wen i know for a fact i wasnt with anyone BUT him from the time i got tested in May til the time i got tested in June. He showed me his papers and he was negative. so how could this be?? could he have been carrying it this long and not know and it went away on its own? cuz i have heard most men dont have symptoms and are carriers. So how could i have came back positive for trich and a bacterial infection and he come back NEGATIVE???? please someone HELP!!!!

Want to clear something up that I wrote...Trich is commonly tested for. It might be able to be done with new pap's if not Dr's often do a 2nd swab which is used to test for yeast, BV and Trich.

Not to get into a pissing match or anything, but a pap helps them identify other bacteria, yeast, etc. by use of microscopic analysis.  Most likely they would have seen something abnormal on the pap.  In addition, we do not know if her doctor screened for Trich the first time or not, so I'm making an assumption that she did because it doesn't make sense that the doc would not screen for it the first time, then screen for it the second time.  Perhaps symptoms at the second exam promted the doc to test for it?  I don't know, I'm making assumptions that only the original poster can clarrify.

No a STD screen would not have picked it up and nor would a pap. Trich is uncommon and that is why it is not tested for most of the time. So most people have no clue they have it until it is specifically tested for it.

STD screening and pap would have detected trich the first time.  It's not likely she carried Trich all this time and symptoms mysteriously appeared, then it just happen to be picked up on the second STD screening.  It's more likely the guy didn't know he was carrying it.  But anything is possible I guess.

Most of the time Trich is not even tested for. I doubt that you even got tested for it before.

Test for Trich in males are not accurate and they typically do not test males.  They just treat for Trich in males.  Some times there are symptoms and some times there aren't.  If you were all clean and had a pap, I would say he most likely had it and did not know.
