Itchy urethra and aching testicle after Gonorrhea treatment

I am a male and about 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with Gonorrhea of the penis. I was treated with an injection of antibiotics and asked to go back on the 11th July to check that the Gonorrhea had cleared up, my urine test came back negative yesterday, however, since the 12th July I have had itching in my urethra similar to how it feels when you have Gonorrhea but not as intense. I am wondering why I am still itching if my Gonorrhea has cleared up? I have not had sex since then.

Have you been drinking enough water?

You say that it was about 3 weeks - if it was sooner than that, you may have retested too soon, and gotten a false negative because of the antibiotics.

What other testing did they do when they diagnosed you with gonorrhea? I'd assume they did a chlamydia test, but did they also do other testing?

Oh and what was the exposure that gave you the gonorrhea - oral sex? Vaginal? Anal? I ask because I want to make sure you had the proper testing done.
I drink a lot of water every day.

I was diagnosed on the 27th June and retested on the 11th July, so a 2 week gap.

I cannot remember other tests they did, they did a swab of the discharge I had and I did a urine test, They also asked me to do a swab myself using a large cotton bud. My exposure was multiple partners in the weeks and months before which was unprotected oral sex both ways, penetrative sex was vaginal and anal (me giving), both with a condom.
Did they test for mycoplasma Genitalium?
I think you should go back to the doctor, and while you're there, ask what testing they did, and get copies of those results.

Go back to the doctor soon. Let us know what happens.

I went back, they told me on both days I was tested for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia only. I forgot to get copies of the results.
Do you have any advice on what I should do?
I think you should let them know you still have symptoms, ask for a test for NGU.

You can ask for a MG test, but that's unlikely to transmit via oral sex. It wouldn't hurt to test for it, though.

If you are in the US, they just approved a new test for it.
