Living a nightmare

Hi,

I am male, 35, had protected sex and unprotected oral sex with sex worker two months back exactly (biggest mistake of my life). I have everything this poster had back in 2008:

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/STDs/your-thoughts-please-help-me-im-in-destress/show/577725#comments_header

he describes his symptoms and all he has been though as if I am writing it. I wish he came back and said what was wrong but the comments just stop a month later. i sent him a message but he did not replay.
right now i have the itches, burning while urinating, throat pain, and extreme fear that i destroyed my life. the only good news the HIV test came back negative after 5 weeks. i did a second one today * weeks since i feel i have the symptoms despite wearing a condom.
since it all showed up when i was relaxed and was not worried that i caught something since i thought condoms while having sex is 100% safe. so there is something going on, but what is it?
just like him, i went to doctors who tell me its fear...but there is more to it. i do not feel the same.
rather re-writing all his symptoms. could someone read his post and tell me what could be wrong with me if i did not have HIV? what could cause the itching in my legs, feet, hands? why nightmares?
did someone before had this and found what was wrong?

HIV test negative. Big relief. Urine culture normal. Other tests (herpes) still in the lab though my dr says that I have mild symptoms but needs to confirm. He wants me to do a syphilis RPR.
following up with all doctors.
Will keep you posted. Thank you!

hives during pregnancy are actually fairly common. it's ok to take benadryl during pregnancy.   no std would cause these symptoms in both of you like this for this long.  whatever is causing your itching issues, is something you are being exposed to in your house, not a std.

I was nervous about it before. But as I have really gone through the forum and see most advices from those professional and some experienced ppl in this forum. They mostly comment that protected sex should have no worry and no risk in any STDs at all.  Unless symptoms are really very obvious or very annoying i guess, if not I think there should have zero worry about STDs when you have put on your condom properly and consistently throughout all sexual intercourse.

She has seen 3 dermatologists so far. They say it is some sort of allergic reaction (Hive/urticaria) to something, but do not know what it is. The thing is that I also itch from the same places she itches.  hands, arms, feet. but I do not have Hive since I can take antihetimne I guess. it has been 4 weeks now.  Is there an STD that causes itching in hands and feet?

Thank you for the advice. I am taking steps to calm down while I wait for the results. I will seek a therapist as well since I started itching all over and it might be from the stress and not STD.
Tomorrow is the HIV results. I really hope that it is not that, which will be a big relief. Herpes will need one more week. meanwhile, I am helping my wife with the rash that is spreading and itching her like crazy especially at night. doctor thinks it is urticaria but can only give her local creams and cortisone injections. she does not get sleep at all from the itching and burning. I still have pain when I urinate and itchy around anus area. itchy and burning around boxer area.  that wakes me up at night even with sleeping pills. no outbreak as described. wish me luck and thank you.

your anxiety is the biggest issue here. I totally 2nd vance's advice - you need professional therapy and you need it soon.  you are doing more harm to your family with your anxiety and resulting depression than you ever did by having sex with a hooker.   your symptoms do not sound std related at all.  nothing sounds like herpes either.

is your pregnant wife following up with her doctor for her rashes?

Thank you both for your replay. I am waiting for my test results for urine culture, Herpes-2, and HIV.
I have a very complected situation since I am married and my wife is pregnant 4 months. so yes I could have ruined their lives. you can call me what you want, i deserve it and much much more. I never had sex with sex worker and even avoided sex when i was single, and i decided to do it now!!!!!! the only thing keeping me from shooting myself or jumping from my office building is that I have a family to take care off. Although I have very strong suicidal urges every minute, i am trying to fight them off.
The only thing that i can tell you that i do not care what happens to me as soon as my wife and unborn child are safe. i also have a 5 year old boy. I need to know what is wrong with me to protect my wife, who i had sex with 2 times and now has itchy rash on ankels, arms, and now spread to face. She has herpes or hiv symptoms (muscle pain, sick, dizzy, loss of weight). i doubt i have HIV but i need to make sure. it seems i do have herpes though. will share the results in two days. wish my family luck.

You were never at risk at HIV to begin with, based on the fact that you wearing on condom. Oral poses virtually no risk for HIV. And your symptoms do not sound like HIV. HIV is a slow progression over many years as the immune systems fails. But glad you got that off your chest. Your symptoms can be caused by many things, and heightened by anxiety, which you clearly  have.

That being said, if you are experiencing these symptoms, why not go get checked for something else? Your odds of another STD from oral one time are extremely unlikely, but possible. And just to relax, even if this is an STD, you didn't ruin your life. Most are treatable with antibiotics and minor procedures that other people never even have to know about.

first off I am not going to reread someone else's post.

you were never at risk for hiv from this. no reason for more testing for it.

have you had urine testing done for the burning during urination?

no std causes itching on this many body parts.
