Nasal cavity crusting, frequent urination - reoccuring - diagnosis?

Ok, I tested positive for chlamydia in March?

I got treatment of 4 tablets of doxycycline. I had a strange nasal problem at this time, it was sort of blocked up, but the main problem was that it was crusting to the inside of my nasal cavity. (Like hard sticking mucus to the inside of my nose). After I took the tablets this problem went away.

I tested positive again for chlamydia in about May. I had one other sexual partner in that time. I had the nose problem again. I took 4 tablets of doxycycline and it went away (again).

4 days into being retreated I had protected sex with my partner, and I started experiencing frequent urination problems, like before. I had sex with my partner after the 14 days unprotected and I was fine, but still had the frequent urination problem - no nasal problem - just frequent urination. So I decided to use protection from then on.

I went and got tested again (urine) and at the GUM Clinic, my test came back negative. Both urine and std. So I had unprotected sex with my partner and my nasal problem has returned (about 2-3 days after sleeping with her). I have also noticed some discharge, but still no pain in urinating - like I had before with chlamydia.

What std is doing this? I don't see why I keep getting these std symptoms? What has this nasal cavity problem got to do with it (as I've only had it when I've had clam). Could it be something else? a uti or trichomoniasis or worse?

My symptoms are:
Frequent Urination
Nasal Cavity Filling (hard crusting mucus)
Occasional discharge
Lower back pain (slight)

My partner has gone for another test at the GUM Clinic and we are both going for a HIV test tomorrow.

Thanks very much for any help you give.

Hello.

A year on and I'm still having problems but I finally got diagnosed with something.

I had a staph infection in my nose. The doctor said that this - combined with cuts in my nose could have led to impertigo. I have been treated for the condition and have finished my course of antibiotics.

If it comes back I will update if I remember. I still have a lot of the symptoms I had a year ago but that is probably down to a yeast/bacterial/fungal infection.

I will still update this incase it ever helps someone else as I'm still being treated.

really no reason to think this is std related . none of your symptoms at this point are.

continue to be seen regularly by the gum clinic for any urine issues and your regular family physician for your other symptoms.

Update:

I'm still having problems, frequent urination has subsided - may have been true what they said at the STD clinic, that it may need time to return to normal.

All GUM Clinics tests (Clam, Gon, HIV, Syhp) and blood tests taken by the doctor have come back normal. Urine has been cultured that is fine too. I have been tested for diabetes, don't have that.

I am awaiting another blood test to check my thyroid and testosterone, as I have now completely lost my sex drive as well.

Symptoms
Gas
Pain when passing stools, usually blood
Burning urination
Nocturia (No matter how long I sleep for, always need a wee (urgently) when I wake)
Consistant nasal problems
throat congestion
and completely lost my sex drive :[

I have been looking into candida. As this can cause nasal issues, and cause all of my symptoms. It can be brought on by antibiotics of course, which I had to take quite a lot of.

Thanks for the replies so far, I will inquire about prostate exam/getting someone to look at my nose after these blood test results come back again.

Anyone else think it maybe candida?

Thanks a bunch guys! :-)

your nasal issues aren't std related. have you seen an ENT specialist about them yet?

chlamydia is easily cured with antibiotics and doesn't cause lingering symptoms like this.

UPDATE: Ok have been to the doctors, my blood test results came back normal, so did my urine sample. I still have my nasal problem and frequent urination.

The doctor booked me an appointment to get an ultrasound test. I have also been to the GUM Clinic and had another STD test, and also a HIV test.

I heard nasal problems can be associated with HIV, so I hope it's not that.

Does anyone think the frequent urination be because I had chlamydia twice in such a short space of time. Thanks.

Zak.

Can't say because nose has nothing to do with a STD.

Update: Starting to show discharge now, still no pain as of yet. Looks like Clam might be back - but I don't see how that explains my nose problem.. every time I test positive for clam I get this nose problem

your nasal issues are not std related at all. see an ENT specialist for further evaluation of symptoms.

no std causes just frequent urination.  continue to follow up at the gum clinic if it continues.
