Protected sex with a stripper

I had protected oral and vaginal sex with a stripper at a party.  Maybe less than 10 min total.  Happened 1.5 days ago.  My anxiety is through the roof. What are the chances I caught something ? I read alot of high percentages online and it scares me.

I'm not sure what you're reading, but protected oral and intercourse is very low risk.

There is a small risk for syphilis (uncommon in developed countries like the US, Canada, UK, countries in Europe, etc. - I wouldn't even worry about it), herpes and HPV. Those are spread by skin to skin contact, and condoms don't protect all of your skin, but do offer significant protection.

You are not at risk for gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, hep B, etc.

Try not to freak out. Your chances are very low from a one-time protected encounter.

Thanks for the quick response, I am in the USA, and I was worried about syphilis, genital harpies and hpv.  As it's my first and last time doing that with a stripper.  I just was very worried and hadn't slept since it happend.  Everything I read said like 30-40 percent chance to get 1 of those 3 since a condom does not protec against them.
Well, even if you were in a long term relationship with someone with genital herpes type 2, you'd only have a 4% chance of getting it over the course of a year if all you did was avoid sex when your partner had symptoms. If you used condoms, it would be 2%.

So no, the chance of you getting herpes from a one time protected encounter is nowhere near 30-40%.

We don't have transmission stats on syphilis and HPV like we do on herpes, but in 2019, only 129,813 cases of syphilis were reported in the US. (For comparison, 1,808,703 of chlamydia were reported.)  Chances of your CSW having it are slim.

HPV is definitely more common, but condoms can offer up to 70% protection against it.

There is a vaccine available for HPV. If you haven't had it, you should talk to your doctor about it. It doesn't fully protect against it, but it does cover the 9 most common strains.
I greatly appreciate your detailed and quick response.   The internet is filled with miss matched information and nowhere can you get a good defined answer without running to a Dr.  That information just lifted a massive weight off my chest.  I appreciate it so much.
You're welcome. :)
