why not write down all your questions and give the clinic a call and ask them?
Hi. Well I assumed the lab automatically tests for HPV. She asked me about my previous pap in March this year that came back ASCUS if they told me the pap showed HPV. I told her that I asked what can cause an abnormal pap and the nurse practitioner just bluntly told me "HPV does." She said it would say "inflammation" if it was anything other than HPV. And this new gyno told me the day I went in for my pap that her lab will put HPV on the results if they find an abnormality on the pap. So now I'm confused because she says she THINKS it's HPV. Well, if the lab sample showed it was abnormal and the technicians then run an HPV test on it, shouldn't she know for sure? She didn't even tell me if it was high risk or low risk.
you need to call your gyn and ask if you were tested for hpv at all. odds are it's high risk if it's persisting and progressing :(
Continue to follow up with your gyn as they recommend.
