STDs from dildos?

My partner just purchased a dildo off the internet.  He washed it thoroughly before use. However when the item came the box was opened but the outside packaging was sealed.  We are hoping it was perhaps opened in transit? Is there any possibility of transmitting?  It took four days to arrive.

If the packaging was sealed, it's fine. I'm sure the box was damaged during transit.

Also, your partner washing it thoroughly. This is fine, and I wouldn't worry at all.

thank you for your helpful comment! we were a little unnerved about the box being opened, but it was also placed in the mailbox (who knows how roughly).  my partner has a low immune system so we were worried about him catching something, but we also purchased from a reputable source (Adam and Eve) which has good customer service and reassured us it was fine, as well.  She also said how all their returned toys are sent directly to the incinerator.  We wanted another opinion though!  Thanks again.
"She also said how all their returned toys are sent directly to the incinerator." - oh that's interesting, and really good info to have. Thanks for letting me know that. :)

I'm glad it made you feel better, too.
sure thing! their customer service is super responsive too, so I tend to trust sellers who have people you can always reach out to for assistance.  I think A & E is one of the more popular sellers? Hopefully next time I purchase from them the delivery driver won't put it in the mailbox...LOL. Thanks again
