Sore throat after oral sex

I know this question has been asked a lot, so I may just be posting for my own sanity.  4 days ago I (33 y.o. M) had a hookup with a 52 y.o M (kissing and oral sex only both performed and received but never ejaculated).  Later that same day and for a few days I had discomfort in my testicles and penis which went away today after I realized there was no discharge or burning during urination.  So I assume this was all anxiety induced.  Today I woke up with a severely sore throat with painful swallowing and white spots on my tonsils.  I reached out to the individual I had the hookup with and he said he was tested the previous week and was negative for everything.  I was also negative for everything prior to the hookup.  I am assuming he was referring to a urine test being performed though so there would be no answer on oral gonorrhea.  He said the last time he was with another individual was 6 months ago.   I got a strep test today and it was negative so they sent another culture out for tonsilitis.  I did not bring up the oral sex out of embarrassment.  They did prescribe me a 5 day z pak for my throat.  My question is, is it possible this individual had oral gonorrhea and didn't know and passed it to me somehow? I am in an open relationship and believe most of this is in my head but is it safe to proceed to have sex with my primary partner or should I wait until I finish the Z pack course and get tested after a period of time before I resume sexual contact with my primary partner?  Thanks,

Hi,
Lot going for you here in terms of odds.
- first your partner claims he’s tested so if we believe him that’s a good sign.
- he says he hasn’t been with anyone for 6months again if we believe him great news. Oral Ghon is self limiting in the throat and would have cleared in 6 months
- your partner is of an age that Ghon is not all that common (teens and early 20s)
- Ghon in the penis is more often that not <90% symptomatic with obvious penile discharge and/or painful urination (you have not got)
- oral Ghon <90% is asymptomatic so probably dosnt explain your sore throat (although it could do)
-STI symptoms NEVER show the same day.

So all things considered I’m not sure there is much to worry about here.

But testing is cheap and easy and probably worth doing to avoid any regrets with your regular partner.

I would bet a lot of money it’s negative so it depends on your level of worry.

It’s much more likely you have caught a run of the mill cold or flu bug.

Thank you for your response, it's much appreciated! I plan to get tested a week after I finish my course of antibiotics so I do not get a false negative. In the meantime, in a worst case situation if he did have oral gonorrhea, is there a high probability of transmission to me from kissing or oral, or are these scenarios rare? Thanks again
Transmission of STIs via oral isnt that common. If it is "deep throat" then that increases the risk but realistically he did not have anything to begin with.

STIs are not passed via kissing.
