Worried here. Having Symptoms after tests done

Hello, I had an encounter where I received unprotected oral from a CSW for a couple minutes. About 4 days later I had symptoms of burning urination, frequent urination, pains in the head of penis, hot sticky sensation at night on the penis head (sticking more to my leg in bed). Also noticed faint white stains in underwear at times. I went to urologist who checked prostate (which was fine), did bladder scan, and tested my urine for gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichonomas, mycoplasma/ureaplasma. I was on doxycycline for the first urine tests which came back negative. Then I retested 5 days after being off doxycycline. Tests were still negative. I’m still having the symptoms. Had a CBC done and WBC was 5.5 in normal range. My Questions are below:

1. Are these urine tests for gonorrhea etc accurate after being off doxycycline for 5 days?
2. What else could my symptoms be from?

Thanks.

Testing while on doxy can give you false negatives, and even testing 5 days after stopping might, too. Did a doctor prescribe the doxy, and what for?

Unprotected oral can give you something called NGU, which is an infection in the urethra called non-gonococcal urethritis. It's basically any infection not caused by gonorrhea. It can be caused by normal mouth bacteria entering the urethra, strep, respiratory viruses, etc.

Did the urologist send your urine off for a culture, or just do STD testing? Again, though, even if that happened, because you were on doxy at the time, it might result in false negatives.

Unprotected oral can also transmit gonorrhea and chlamydia. The doxy would have cured chlamydia, if you took it at the proper dosage. What did you take and for how long?

To get accurate testing, you need to be off the antibiotics for at least 2-3 weeks.

I took doxy for 2 weeks (100mg x 2 per day). The urologist said that the STD testing would be accurate 5 days after coming off doxy. He also did a urine culture which showed no growth for 48 hours (done same day as STD testing 5 days after coming off doxy).

What would be next steps here? Another antibiotic?
Doxy was for sinus issues
Also, do I have to worry about hiv or syphilis or herpes from my exposure (no visible sores)
Can you please respond to my questions and comments above? Thank you.
I answer these questions on my own time, as a volunteer. I don't always get to them in the time frame you'd like.

I wouldn't take another antibiotic until you get some more testing done. There is a lot of resistance now, and you need to make sure you are taking the proper treatment for the infection. I'd wait at least another week and test again.

HIV is not a risk from oral sex, and syphilis might be, but it's uncommon in most developed countries. You'd see a sore, not have these other symptoms. Herpes is a possibility, but unless you see any sores appear, I wouldn't worry about it.
