protected oral and anal sex with a csw

Hi. About a week ago I engaged in oral and anal sex with a csw in Dubai. She said she was from Portugal but I think she may have been Eastern European maybe Hungarian or Romanian. Throughout the session which lasted a total of 20 to 30 minute I wore a condom which I did not see slip and did not see that it had broken. I would like to know if I am a risk of contracting any Stis from this encounter especially syphillis. This is because I have a partner and do not want to infect her with anything and she will wonder why I am abstaining from sex with her while I wait for the window period to pass before I can test.

Please advise should am I at risk and do I need to test. Many thanks

There is very little risk here.

The only risk you might have is from herpes, syphilis and HPV. Condoms offer significant, but not total, protection against them.

The symptoms of herpes usually appear within 2-12 days.  Tests for this are hard to get in the Middle East, which is really okay in this situation. You can get a test if you get symptoms, to my understanding, but the blood tests can give false positives.

Syphilis sores appear between 10 and 90 days, but the average is 3 weeks. You can test for this at 6 weeks. It's uncommon in most developed countries.

HPV symptoms, if you get them, can appear several weeks later. There is no test for HPV for men.

Please remember that guilt doesn't equal risk.

Thank you for your reply. Just one follow up question. Would a chancre always appear if syphillis was contracted.
Yes, but it is painless, so you might miss it. Check once a day. You will not need to use any kind of magnifier or squeezing or whatever - you will be able to just see it with your naked eye.

If you check it more often, you can cause irritation, which will cause panic. It won't appear before 10 days.
Thanks you so much. I really do appreciate you replying and thank you also for your reassurance. Best wishes
You're welcome. :)

Hi. Just to clarify my badly worded post. As far as I could see the condom did not slip and did not break
