PLEASE HELP

I had a wart a while back and had it removed by the doctor in my genital area

its been about 6 months since...i recently had oral sex with a girl and was wondering what my chances of passing it on to her are...i understand you can get oral cancer but she never performed any oral sex on me mainly it was me giving her oral sex...we never had an other form of sex

i am wondering if i passed on hpv to her from my mouth? i have never had any oral warts or not that i know of

could you please let me know what my risk of passing it to her is through oral sex (me performing orally on her)

thanks

I think I understand what you're asking. You want to know if you could have passed your genital infection to your partner through your mouth (by performing oral sex on her), right? If that's your concern, don't worry. The infection doesn't travel through your body that way to infect your mouth, so you couldn't have passed it on to her.

Look at your question- you are asking questions about transmission of an infection you do not know you have, nor have any reason to think you have through an inefficient mechanism of transmission.  You should not be worried.  EWH

thank you for that it was helpful...so just for my understanding

i was concerned about my chance of passing hpv to her while i performed oral sex on her...she does not have hpv and i was mainly just trying to understand if i could have given her any of the genital hpv i had if i performed orally on her?...she didn't give me oral sex but i am just worried that some how it may be transmitted orally? as i mentioned i haven't had any oral warts in the past although i know u don't necessarily need that to pass hpv orally. Sorry i know i am repeating myself i am just worried about my chances i passed on any hpv to her genitals
so far i only have read about passing it from genitals to the mouth leading to cancer in certain cases

so if you could clarify that for me i would be very grateful and thats all thank you for your time

Welcome to our forum.  I'll try to help.  As I understand it, you are concerned about a genital wart which was removed, correct?  If so, in general, if the wart has not recurred in more than three months since its removal, you should not worry.  When wart removal fails, if they are going to recur, they typically do so within three months of their removal.

I am not sure I follow your concerns about oral HPV. Oral HPV is a rare and transmission through oral sex, while still a subject of study, is rare event.  I would not worry.  I have pasted a recent blog-like response from Dr. Handsfield on the topic for your interest

I hope my comments are helpful. EWH
