Received oral. Unbelievably freaked out

I just want to thank you so much for this site.  It is an incredible tool for people to use and you are a great person for doing this.

Here is the story, I'm a male and over a month ago i had a party at my house.  I went to sleep as did everyone else.  People crashed over wherever they could find a place.  Well, at this point I assume one of the guys who showed up was gay because I felt a sensation while I was sleeping.  I woke up and saw him giving me fellatio.  I assume it lasted 10 or 20 seconds.  I freaked because I'm not gay, etc etc.  Well, about 4 days after the incident I felt kinda sick to my stomach(very possibly due to the stress) and then another time about 5 weeks later.  I think this could possibly be do to the stress of what happened, but can't be for sure.  I don't show any signs on my penis, discharge or any burning when I urinate.  I've been taking my temperature every 5 minutes because i'm so nervous and it fluctuates between 98.6 to 99.1.  I think that's just due to the thermometer, but again your mind really works overtime.  I talked to the STD clinic and they said I should be tested for gonnorhea, chlamydia, herpes and syphillis.  I'm awaiting the results right now, but am SO UNBELIEVABLY NERVOUS about the big one!  They say I don't need testing for this with just this exposure.  What are your thoughts on this situation.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.  I'm having a hard time getting through the day.

The STD clinic advice you describe below (your follow up comment) is exactly right.  You are at no measurable risk of catching anything from this exposure.  HIV is zero risk (there have been no proved cases, ever, of HIV transmission from by penile exposure orally); and if you had acquired gonorrhea or another STD, you would have developed symptoms long before now.  Chlamydia has never been known to be transmitted to the penis by oral sex.

You obviously are very stressed by the implications of having had sexual exposure to another man, without your consent.  You were sexually assaulted, and it is no secret how traumatic that can be.  If you can't shake your anxieties over that event, you should seek evaluation from a mental health professional.  But you can put the STD/HIV risk issue behind you; it really is not significant.  I don't recommend any STD/HIV testing, except to the extent that the negative result might help ease your stress level.

Best wishes--  H3

Thank you so much for your response imdumb and roger1.  Yes, I'm straight and I believe that's the thing that is driving me the most crazy.  I can't believe a guy did that!  It is just really bothersome and then top onto that the fact he could've given me something.  I was just going insane!

Relax my freind. There is no chance you could have gotten an STD from 10 seconds of insertive oral, especially hIV. It doesn't happen. Your test results will be negative. Forget it and move on.

When you say "the big one" you must be talking about HIV.

That is like an essentially negligible risk for HIV from that one dude. Dr. H will likely tell you the same.

The clinic is being conservative but safe by offering you all those tests. Chances are without symptoms for most of those, you are probably in the clear.

May be a bit of topic but if you are really being sincere and are straight and were honestly woken by this homosexual giving you oral, then he is likely an incorrigible type that was acting inappropriately.

From other threads I've read in the forum, the risk of HIV from one instance of oral is almost zero. You could also be tested for HIV at 6 weeks for a highly reliable test. Furthermore, you could have the person charged with sexual assult--rape if you know him. Perhaps he can be ordered to take an HIV test. I would talk to an attorney too.

One more thing doc, the clinic said (since I kept on about it) that I can be pretty much 100% certain that I didn't catch anything else if all 4 tests come back negative.  They said that these are many fold easier to catch than the big one.  I'm just really worried.  sorry.
