This was an incredibly low risk event and there is no medical reason for you to worry about getting cancer from the event you describe.
This will end this thread. EWH
Thank you very much for answering my question, I should have posted in q new thread sorry,
I dont want to read about it and misunderstand some of the information because of my English and become more worried.
So I can be completely confident I will not get cancer in the throat or oral caused by HPV from the event in which the escort placed her finger in her vgainal and then my mouth and I tasted it?
And if I got any type of HPV, It will go anyway in 8 to 24 months without any treatments ? And if I will get the cancer I will get it by now right?
I really appreciate it Doctor Hook.
We typically answer only one question per post. This is a seperate and complex question. I will provide a brief answer but if you wish more information my advice would be to go to the web site for the American Sexual health Association (ASHA)- there is much information there.
For better or worse, at present HPV is a "fact of life" and most people have it or will have it at some point in the future. Despite this fact, only a tiny minority of persons with HPV get the consequences of infection (primarily women and primarily cancer and pre-cancerous lesions). HPV is the most commonly acquired STD. Over 85% of sexually active women will have HPV infection at some time in their lives. The figure for men is less well studied but similar. In some HPV will cause genital warts, in others it will not cause warts but may lead to changes in PAP smears. In nearly everyone who gets HPV, warts or otherwise, the infections will resolve by themselves without therapy in 8-24 months. In a very small minority of women, HPV infection can persist and lead to the pre-cancerous lesions that PAP smears detect and which can then be treated. For men there is far less risk of any sort.
Theevent in which your escort partner placed her finger in her vgainal and then your mouth is not a meaningful risk factor for HPV.
Take care. EWH
Hello,
Thank you very much Doctor, I think I will go for this vaccination because I do travel a lot,
I have another question if it possible for you to answer it.
Just want to know about HPV, are HPV viruses normal viruses that people have? can I even get it from having sex with a virgin girl for example? or it is just in escorts and people who have STI's?
My English is not good, and I tried to search about it but I found lots of information and I have seen some of your posts and were advising them to read some threads, I tried but it was really difficult to understand because of my English, for me I just want a simple answer please if it possible for you.
last year with an escort, we did not have sex or kissing or anything, she just put her finger in her vagina and then she put her finger in my mouth and I tasted it, is it possible that I might get throat or oral cancer from this event caused by HPV type 16, this is the type that causes oral and throat cancer. Can I get it from that event? Can I be completely confident I wont get it?
I am really really worried doctor I just need your reassurance. I can not stop checking my throat every time.
Welcome to the Forum. I will be happy to comment. The exposures that you describe do not put you at risk for hepatitis A. Hepatitis A is transmitted only through what medical professionals call "fecal-oral" contact, i.e. you have to ingest stool from an infected person to get hepatitis A. Most hepatitis A is transmitted through ingestion of contaminated food or water however when anal sex is involved the disease can be an STI as well. Since you did not have any anal oral contact during the encounters you describe, you can be confident that you were not at risk for hepatitis A and do not need testing.
BTW, the vaccination you received as a child was for hepatitis B- the hepatitis A vaccine was not available when you were a child. For anyone who travels at all or eats out however, getting the hepatitis A vaccine is a good idea.
I hope this comment is helpful. No need to worry further about any STIs from the encounters that you describe above – your tests prove that you were not infected. EWH
