Is this MS hug?

Hi
Not posted for a while, sort of given up the whole doctor merry go round!

But Tuesday I've got another neuro apt.

I've today been gripped for the last half an hour by the most horrendous pain around my chest, well just above my waist.
I've had pain in my ribs and upper back before but nothing like this.
My pain is getting worse but I find it difficult to describe how I'm feeling.

Does this sound like the dreaded MS hug?

Any hints/tips for my neuro apt?

Good questions to ask

Thanks

Hi-ya,

So sorry you are dealing with this. I hope your appt. can bring more light to this "hug" you are getting. I know the MS forum may have more info on thier Health Pages, a lot of good info there.....I think Sarah gave you great advice about appt.

Let us know how you make out

Lots of hugs (the nice ones) to you

Hey!  Glad to hear from you!  Sorry to hear about you pain...that sux.

I'm not exactly sure about the "hug".  I have had a hug type feeling, but it wasn't in my torso/chest.  It was actually in my arm.  I didn't know what it was and the doctor told me it could be the hug.  I wasn't aware you could get it anywhere else other than you middle.

Anyways, when I had it in my arm, it wasn't really painful for me, but it felt like someone tied a tourniquet around my upper arm really tight.  It stayed that way for a few days, then disappeared.

I'm not sure about your neuro appt either.  It seems like they are all different.  Are you having a lot of symptoms?  Is this the same neuro that you have been seeing?  I would maybe try to stick to the top 2-3 problems that you would like addressed and leave it at that.  It seems that most of them think your loony if you bombard them with too much.  Just my experience though.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
Take care!
Sarah
