I don't know what to do.

Okay so I'm 17 and a junior in high school, my boyfriend is 18 and a senior. We just had sex for the first time, it wasn't great at all but that was expected, I am absolutely terrified of becoming pregnant before I'm out of high school. I don't know if there are extra precautions other than just a condom, or if I should just not have sex until I'm out of high school? Any advise? All is welcome.

There are many different pills to choose from so if you were to have side effects from one your Dr would try you on another one. You can get pregnant after stopping the pill. You can even get pregnant if you miss pills. They are very effective if you take them everyday at the same time.
Condoms also work very well too. If you have a condom failure like a break you can get pregnant.

That is false. In some cases, the pill's side effects can take a month or two to fully be worked out, for SOME women. But I went back to my normal 28 day period the month after I quit the pill and had no other problems. The only birth control that is known to cause lasting fertility problems is the depo shot. It can take up to 18 months or more to fully recover fertility after being on depo.

But the regular birth control pill is fine, it does not cause permanent problems with fertility and it is safer than relying on condoms alone to prevent pregnancy. There are many different brands that you can try until you find one that works for you. Don't let what one person tells you scare you away from practicing effective birth control. It beats the alternative, which is having a baby when you're not ready.

To be honest pills are not the best thing to do, they can cause so many different problems. If you are on them now and decide to get off them and try to get pregnant later on down the road, that can cause complications with trying to get pregnant and or with the child. I have known many people who have taken the pill and then not been able to conceive. Hope that might help a little. Let me know if you need anything else. I've been there and done that!

Did you and your boyfriend use a condom your first time? If so, and there were no breaks you should be just fine.
You may want to think about getting on the pill if you continue to have sex. Condoms do work very well but sometimes there can be a failure.
