Oral sex after anal sex - is it really dangerous or not

This topic was quite shocking to me: suddenly I found out that quite many couples practice this.

I.e. a woman does a fellatio just after having an anal sex - and, of course, the special thrill is that it is done without taking care of hygiene (not giving an enema before, and not using a condom).

When I first read about this at forums, I was shocked: this form of sex strongly contradicts with my notion about hygiene :)

But after some googling, I found out that medics insist on the possibility of catching some diseases from the other persons, but that's not applicable in this situation: one cannot infect himself :)

So it looks like the only danger can be from gut organisms, but I didn't manage to find any information on this.

Could you please answer, is it really dangerous, or there is just a psychological barrier, and the danger doesn't exceed other, more traditional, forms of oral sex? (I'll greatly appreciate if you give some links to medical literature, maybe with exact risk percentage).

Shyla Stylez, whose real name was Amanda Friedland, reportedly passed away in her sleep Nov.9. She was 35-year-old who had retired from the industry. One can only hope that this isn't the beginning of a trend. The industry has seen it before, but the hope was that better support mechanisms were in place for anyone needing them," tweeted a fan.

Fans are calling for actions after so many deaths of X-rated actresses in such a short period of time.

I've seen some amazingly beautiful women take it from the anus into the mouth, Feces is full of BACTERIA. If you want to get a bacterial infection, be stupid and do it. I read that a stunningly beautiful woman died "mysteriously. Well, Gee!  I think the mystery is solved. Ordinary Porn is pretty boring nowadays. It was fellatio, cunnilingus,  and straight sex, penis to vagina. It had to get kinkier to make it more exciting, then analingus started popping up on websites, NOW, I am seeing the practice of anal sex to oral, I don't see any interruption between the photoshoots, where the man washes his penis before the woman takes it into her mouth. Don't be stupid!

First, relax, this is something that, like many other things, are part of the spectrum that is human sexuality.  That being said, I don't believe you have done it but I can't tell if you want to or not and/or are shocked that anyone could or would.

There are people that enjoy defecating on and rubbing their fecal matter on each other.  This is, admittedly, not near the lights out and under the blanket sex that would seem to be the only thing with which people are comfortable either doing or admitting to having done.  Nevertheless, they don't die or suffer horrible diseases.  Moreover, fellatio following anal intercourse is fairly common in porn (beyond shock, the demonstration of a lack of sexual inhibitions is, given the wide occurrence of inhibitions in western society, erotically charged) and they do not get horribly ill --how often would you do anything if you ended up trowing up for a week after the first time?  The point is that it might shock your partner or it might impress him or her; you may throw up or not (stress rather than illness) and you may like it or not.

My point is that if you want to do it, go ahead, wash yourself well (mineral oil residue can give you diarrhea in an of itself so use water), use water based lube and give it a shot.  What's the worst that can happen?  Incidentally, many men find a woman, having taken a penis too far into her mouth, gagging or vomiting, erotic (they probably don't want to clean up the mess on the bed but how many women expect men to like to clean? LOL!) enough that there have been several porn film series.

In so far as medical practice is concerned, it is commonly held among physicians that genital shaving is bad and that is so common that it is common in heterosexual men so I don't think that you are going to find someone with an MD saying "give it a shot".  Conversely, you might find mental health people telling you that tying yourself in knots over the practice WILL be harmful to you.

I just read all this entry and comments just now, and I'd love to know how were your results days, weeks and months after doing this. Was there any infections? Is it really dangerous at all?

Thank you!!

Introducing that bacteria into you digestive tract that isn't your large intestine even though it is yours will cause gastrointestinal distress i.e. Diarrhea. It isn't like getting E. coli from undercooked beef or vegetables. This is why our anatomy keeps things from back up from the large intestine into the small. The environment of the colon is special with unique microflora to digest certain products that otherwise destroy other tissues. I'm a med student and got in a similar situation (gross). Just depending on the amount of bacteria introduced severity of symptoms varies but all in all it's about a day or so of some diarrhea which is your body just correcting the disturbed environment

I've found the following in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ass_to_mouth):
"If the recipient of ***-to-mouth is performing fellatio on a penis or object that was removed from his/her own rectum, the health risks are generally limited to disturbances of the gastrointestinal tract".

This is an argument for the position that this act is almost not dangerous at all.

But, unfortunately, this passage at wikipedia doesn't have any references, so it can't be called a reliable source.

But the e. coli that you get food poisoning from isn't the same e. coli that is in your gut- it's a different strand. I don't know if someone can carry this around naturally but I know that that isn't considered "normal" flora of the gut.

So far I'm thinking the most danger from this is an infection in your mouth. Your stomach acid should do it's job and kill whatever bacteria get into your system, but the mouth might be more at risk. Any thoughts?

I would think that introducing e-coli bacteria from where they normaly are,
into the mouth and digestive system could be very harmful.
Just think of people getting e-coli poisening from people handeling their
food, and not washing their hands after using the bathroom.
An interesting question though, I'm not sure if I'm right, but that's what I think.

Ok, don't worry please, I'm not going to do this :)
It's just an interest.
But some people do this, and the question is just: are they too careless, or that's just a sexual "prank", one of many (that may be inappropriate for most people, but, you know, for some people anything other than missionary position is a perversion ;) ).

Yeah I agree, I would never consider doing it myself. (My husband has to be fresh from the shower for me to consider fillacio.  But when it comes down to it, hypothetically could it make someone sick?

My logic prompts the same, but there is a counter-argument: medics discourage vaginal sex right after anal sex: microflora is quite different, and this may result in diseases. So it's very difficult to judge without medical knowledges.

There is a very significant difference between the OPs situation and vaginal intercourse following anal intercourse and that is that the flora is VERY different.  The result is caused by the yeast that normally live in the vagina, feasting on the bacteria that is as yummy to them as chocolate is to us.  The problem is that not all the yeast species grow equally well and more than just pH goes out of balance.  The oral cavity is filled with bacteria to the extent that a human bite is more dangerous than a dog's and this, even though the dog's bite includes far deeper penetration of the body!  Your own E. coli will almost certainly not give you some form of hemorrhagic disease (for all I know, someone reading this has an interesting mutation in their intestinal bacteria --interesting, in the lab LOL!) and your partner's flora is bound to be very familiar to your body and vice versa --analingus is far more common.  This may be different or wilder but dangerous?  For the promiscuous, maybe but they have bigger dangers than this.

Thinking on it, I actually don't know of any other risk besides reinfecting yourself with a parasite. So for example if you had pin worms you would easily get the eggs back into your system. The idea is completely repugnant to me, but it is a point how do you infect yourself with anything other than what you already have? Wow I feel like my mind is blown. Don't think I'll try it anytime soon, but interesting.
