can't have a real orgasm- in ANY way

I'm 26 years old female and I've never had a *real* orgasm -- I'm also a lesbian, so I have no interest in penetrative sex. I apologize for the details, but the only way I can feel anything down there, is to dry hump the floor or rub my legs together. Even then, whatever I do experience is really, REALLY weak. I can't get off from oral sex and I also can't get off from a vibrator...I even have a really good one. Whenever I try to do it with a vibrator, I reach a "point" where I think maybe it should work, and EVERY time it just sort of goes away instead.

I was thinking about seeing a sex therapist but I can't afford it. I just want to experience what everyone raves about. I also have a very low sex drive...I only ever get even remotely "horny" before my periods. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I've tried and tried again and it doesn't work. Also, I don't like touching myself or being touched down there...it doesn't do anything for me. I figured the vibrator would work, but it just fizzles out.

HELP!

The adrenal insufficiency may be related to low sex drive. The sexual drive/hormones are related to other body chemical processes. It is definitely something to talk with an MD about. Hydrocortisone should not cause any sexual side effects.

I would also strongly urge you to consider a sex therapist if/when you can afford it. Psychological explanations are the most common reason for sexual problems- when we put too much pressure/expectation on ourselves we become self-defeating. The statements about not wanting/liking to be touched add some weight to this suggestion!

Good luck!

Hi,

Thanks for your quick reply! Is the estrogen therapy you mentioned something I can buy over the counter, or do I need a doctor to prescribe it?

Treating underlying causes of low sex drive. The first medical intervention for low sex drive is usually addressing an underlying medical condition or medication that's known to have sexual side effects. This may include adjusting or changing your current medications or starting treatment for previously undetected conditions.
Estrogen therapy. Systemic estrogen therapy — by pill, patch or gel — can have a positive effect on brain function and mood factors that affect sexual response. Local estrogen therapy — in the form of a vaginal cream or a slow-releasing suppository or ring that you place in your vagina — can increase blood flow to the vagina and help improve desire. In some cases, your doctor may prescribe a combination of estrogen and progesterone.
