Distraction to something else is the only way you can control masturbation. Just wishing to stop and using your will power will not help.. The best and simplest way is to learn abdominal breathing. Google abdominal breathing. Practice for 10 minutes twice a day. After learning, you can use this as a tool to stop masturbating. Whenever there is a sexual urge,do 5 or 6 abdominal breathing. Learn few more breathing exercises or techniques. If you can control your breath, you can control all types of emotions. This should be don for a long period of time. If you are sincere, you may get the result quickly.  Try counting back wards is a simple distraction technique.Reduce your frequency gradually to once a day. Do further reduction in frequency to reach once a week. The less masturbation you do, you will better quality of pleasure.More is a waste.

Hi,

I'm glad you found this forum. You're right, this is a good place to share our personal stories, and get advice as well.

Here's the thing about masturbation: there are no specific set of rules to follow, or adhere to, on a daily basis. There is no precise number of times you should or shouldn't be masturbating per day. What it comes down to is your happiness, health, and what you feel comfortable with...

When you have a lot of free time in your day, it can be a challenge to keep yourself busy (that's a common problem for a lot people). If you think you spend too much time masturbating and it bothers you, then it's time to figure out a new game plan.  It's all about distraction: start by focusing your thoughts and energy toward something other than masturbation when you get the urge to pleasure yourself.  Start a new fitness plan, go for a long walk, join a local sports team, attend a free class, or think about starting a new project (hobby). I am not saying, 'don't masturbate!', just cut back a little, if it's really bothering you...

If the distractions don't help you cut back, then you might consider speaking with a doctor for more professional advice.  Doctors have seen it all and heard it all, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about if you need some counseling about this...

Good Luck
