i had the mirena one put in right after my son was born 4 yrs ago...and had it in for 3 yrs sucessfully. actually i dont remember any spotting the first time, since i was still bleeding from having the baby, but then i didnt get my period for maybe 2 yrs, and then the last year was totally on the mark, every month, i was getting the most excrutiating migraines and cysts on my ovaries every month, but light bleeding with the period. so i took it out, the dr did a few sonos to check the placement and it was a little low but still working so we left it in. well i waited maybe 6 months or so and decided to get it put back in this past month, because my periods were insanely heave, and i mean INSANE! but only for the first 2 days or so, then it would vanish and come back for a few days like spotting, just craziness.

now ive had this in maybe a month and of course you have to get it in when your on your period, and then i stopped bleeding but now the past i want to say, 10 days i've been spotting, nothing really bad, like a light tampon or two a day but still a major annoyance. im assuming this can go on for 6 mos like the dr said, but im still going in next week to have him check it. no migraines as of yet. headaches yes, but thats stress and sinus, but i cant wait for the dam bleeding to STOP already! its annoying! just my expierence ritgh now..if you want to compair notes as we go through it, PM me, like i said i just got it back in. the spotting is normal though. hope that helps a little bit, your not alone :)

Which IUD did you have put in ? If it's Mirena, you can spot on and off for up to 6 months to a year before your periods stop all together. And if you have any type of BC, it is perfectly ok for you to stop having a period.
